Passenger cars whose date of first admission; date of registration and date of first registration in the Netherlands are the same.

Will I get a subsidy in 2024 if I enter into a purchase or lease agreement in 2023 and have the car's registration number transferred to my name in 2023?

No, unfortunately this is not possible. The purchase or lease agreement of the car must have been concluded in the same calendar year in which the grant is applied for.

Am I eligible for the SEPP scheme when the registered name is in my partner's name?

No, the applicant and the nominee must be the same as each other.

I entered into a lease in 2023 and the delivery of the car takes place in 2024. Can I adjust the date?

It is not possible to reissue a lease with a date in 2022. Only by submitting a completely new credit application, including all new required credit application documents and adjusted loan standards, is it possible to enter into a new lease in 2022. Also, the new credit application will be subject to the then current lease rates.

Subsidy for Electric Cars for Private Individuals (SEPP)

In 2024, additional money will be available for the Electric Passenger Car Subsidy Scheme (SEPP). This will give even more people the opportunity to buy or lease a new or used electric car.

Starting January 9, 2024, you can again apply for a subsidy for your electric car. The subsidy amount for a new car is € 2,950. For used cars, the amount you will receive is € 2,000.

Conditions of SEPP scheme in 2024

Only private individuals are eligible for the subsidy scheme.
There is a written purchase or lease agreement in your name.
The purchase or lease agreement must be entered into on or after Jan. 1, 2024.
Ascription takes place in 2024 and is in your name.
You have a valid residential address in the Netherlands.
The car must have been in your name for at least 4 years. In case of an early termination of the lease agreement, you might have to pay back part of the subsidy.
The application for the SEPP scheme must be submitted within 60 days of the purchase of the car.
Range of the car is at least 120 kilometres.
The list price of the car is between €12,000 and €45,000
For the subsidy budget available in 2024, there is no more money left.

If you take out a Private Lease contract with Keurmerk Private Lease and want to make use of the SEPP scheme, you will receive a monthly amount from the government.
