With its newly developed M HYBRID powertrain, extravagant design and progressive luxurious interior ambience, the BMW XM is a fresh new interpretation of a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). In the high-performance segment, the BMW XM brings the unparalleled M feeling to new target groups and markets.

The BMW XM is not only the highlight of the model offensive in BMW M GmbH's anniversary year, the car is also the first M model to be designed entirely by BMW M GmbH since the BMW M1. Meticulously designed details in the BMW XM's exterior subtly allude to the legendary mid-engine sports car. Production of the BMW XM will begin this December at the BMW Group plant in Spartanburg, USA. The car will appear in dealerships worldwide in spring 2023. The main markets for the BMW XM are the United States, China and the Middle East. The BMW XM will be available in the Netherlands for a recommended retail price starting at € 175,163.

The M HYBRID powertrain in the BMW XM delivers a system output of 480 kW (653 hp) (maximum output of the V8 gasoline engine is 360 kW (489 hp) and that of the electric motor 145 kW (197 hp)). The new high-revving V8 gasoline engine features advanced M TwinPower Turbo technology. The 4.4-liter engine features a so-called cross-bank exhaust manifold and an optimized oil separation process.

Distinctive design as an expression of character and performance
The exterior design of the BMW XM testifies to exclusivity, performance and sporting character. The proportions of a modern SAV, the powerful design, the dynamically stretched silhouette, distinctive M design details, the new interpretation of the front end - especially for BMW's models in the luxury segment - and numerous distinctive details give the
BMW XM a unique, extroverted appearance.

The headlights split into two parts, the BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille with gold trim and the large air intakes are the signature elements on the front of the BMW XM. The side view, with its gold-colored accent line, refers to the black strip across the flanks of the BMW M1. Other references to the history of BMW M come in the form of the BMW logos engraved in the rear window and the distinctive styling of the taillight units. The M alloy wheels - standard 21-inch diameter, optional up to 23 inches - also have a particularly distinctive design.

Interior: driver-oriented dashboard, luxurious M Lounge in the rear
The expressive style of the exterior of the BMW XM continues into the interior. The dashboard and front seats are designed for an active driving experience. Standard equipment includes M multifunction seats, knee pads, a model-specific leather-wrapped M sport steering wheel and M-specific graphics - including a warning light for when it's time to shift gears - in the BMW Curved Display and BMW Head-Up Display.

Generous space, high-quality materials and extravagant design make the rear interior in the BMW XM an exclusive M Lounge. Heated backrests that extend well into the side walls of the compartment and specially designed cushions offer passengers in the rear luxurious comfort. The sculptural headliner is unique with its three-dimensional prism structure, the edges of the picture-frame-style headliner and one hundred LED lights to illuminate it all in Ambiance lighting colors provide the Lounge feel. In addition to the choice of four interior finishes, there is also new - optional 'Vintage' leather upholstery for the upper part of the dashboard and door panels. Ambient lighting, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and the Travel & Comfort System are all also part of the standard equipment. Options include a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with a 1,500-watt amplifier and four additional speakers in the headliner.

Customized driving experience at the touch of a button
The control panel on the center console of the BMW XM includes model-specific controls that allow the driver to change the driving experience in a variety of ways to suit his personal preferences. For the first time, there is also the M HYBRID button, which allows the driver to select the desired combination of the gasoline engine and/or electric motor. There is a choice of HYBRID, ELECTRIC and eCONTROL. In addition, there is a Setup button that gives direct access to the settings of the drivetrain, chassis, steering, braking system,
M xDrive and the degree of regeneration of energy when braking.

Another button is used to select M Mode. If the driver switches from the default setting Road to Sport, this limits the degree of intervention of the driver assistance systems to the essential functions for sporty driving - this also applies to the information displayed on the dashboard. Two personal M mode settings can be saved, along with the M HYBRID system's preferred settings, engine sound, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and transmission shift characteristics. These can be recalled using the two M buttons on the steering wheel.
