POWERFUL, DYNAMIC AND SPACIOUS

BMW has launched the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. This second generation BMW of the compact premium segment has a powerful and dynamic look and is equipped with the latest technologies. Four variants are available with engine sizes between 136 HP and 218 HP. Two Plug-in Hybrid models will be added in the summer of 2022. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is available from € 41,558.

THE EXTERIOR

An even more powerful and minimalist appearance

The concept of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has not been changed much, but there are some striking differences from the old model in terms of shape. The nose of this new model resembles the 1 Series, the headlights are more compact and positioned slightly higher than the grill in the front. The side mirrors are no longer attached to an A-line, but come from the doors themselves. This provides improved all-round visibility.
The rear looks even more powerful thanks to the compact LED tail lights and the wide shoulder line. The exhausts are integrated invisibly into the rear bumper, creating a minimalist look.

In terms of size, the new 2 Series Active Tourer seems just a bit larger than the previous model. The long wheelbase and greater track width make for a perfect combination of sporty driving and great comfort in all conditions. Depending on the version, this model is available with 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels. Optional on this model are 19-inch alloy wheels and a Luxury Line or M Sport package. The new 2 Series Active Tourer is available in two solid-colour and eight metallic body colours.

THE INTERIOR

The interior of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has been completely redesigned, which has similarities with the interior design concept of the BMW iX. What immediately catches the eye is the slim dashboard with the BMW Curved Display, which runs from the steering column halfway up the dashboard. The control panel is integrated into a 'floating' central armrest and has a greatly reduced number of controls. The centre console features large cup holders and an updated smartphone compartment, which keeps the phone in clear view for the driver and front passenger and can be charged wirelessly as an option.
Comfort is also a consideration. The multi-adjustable seats make the new Active Tourer considerably more comfortable on long journeys than its predecessor. There is a large selection of different imitation leather and leatherette upholstery, and optionally, sports seats can be chosen, which offer extra support thanks to their sharply accentuated sides. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is spacious and offers plenty of storage space. For example, the rear seats can be moved forwards by 13 centimetres to increase the size of the boot. With the rear seats in the cargo position, the boot area increases by 90 litres. This gives a total boot capacity of 415 to 1455 litres, of which the tailgate can be opened and closed electrically by remote control.

EQUIPMENT AND INNOVATION

In addition to a completely new design, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is richly equipped as standard and features the latest technologies and innovations. The BMW Maps navigation system, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, a leather sports steering wheel, automatic lighting, Park Assist with reversing camera, Reversing Assistant, four USB-C ports and 12 Volt sockets in various locations have been added as standard to the options list. The safety systems have also been upgraded, with the Cruise Control now including a braking function that reacts to oncoming traffic when turning left, and to pedestrians and cyclists when turning right. Of course, it is possible to add to these standard options to make the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer just the way you want it. Optional equipment includes Harman Kardon Sound System, panoramic roof, mirror package, Active Cruise Control, BMW Head-up Display, Surround View and BMW Drive Recorder. With Functions on Demand, it is even possible to retrofit some of the functions, hardware permitting.
The new generation of the iDrive operating system makes its debut in the smaller segment in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and is based on the new Operating System 8.
