The new BMW X5 and BMW X6

The new BMW X5 and the new BMW X6 have been introduced. BMW has equipped the new BMW X5 with everything it needs to maintain its world-leading position in the segment. The new BMW X6 is ready to take over the lead in its segment from its German premium competitors. The BMW X5 will be available as a Launch Edition at a consumer suggested retail price starting at €96,512, - in the form of the Plug-in Hybrid BMW X5 xDrive50e. The BMW X6 starts with the BMW X6 xDrive40i with a consumer suggested retail price starting at € 117,676, -.

The new BMW X5: narrow headlights and an illuminated BMW kidney grille

The BMW X5 comes standard with xLine design elements for a significantly more powerful appearance. It looks even more impressive. The front is distinguished by newly designed but still iconic BMW headlights and the BMW kidney grille. The new headlights are 35 mm narrower than before. The arrow-shaped daytime running lights "point" to the side of the body and the outer elements also act as turn signals. Adaptive LED headlights with BMW high beam assist, plus the M headlights Shadow Line, are optionally available.

The BMW kidney grille with Iconic Glow lighting is now an option for the 6-cylinder versions of the BMW X5; the waterfall lighting creates a particularly striking, distinctive BMW look. The vertical Air Curtains and lower air intake - with decorative trim details in pearl chrome and triangular openings on either side - also contribute to a modern look.

The Air Breathers in the side screens of the BMW X5 have been redesigned; the silk-gloss aluminum finish, which is also applied to the roof rails, are both part of the standard equipment. The light guide elements in the taillight units and brake lights now have special shapes. The L-shape familiar from other BMW models is mirrored horizontally in the BMW X5's taillights, resulting in a constantly illuminated X-shape.

The new BMW X6: M Sport package now standard

BMW also equips the new BMW X6 with narrow headlight units and arrow-shaped daytime running lights. The BMW kidney grille with Iconic Glow is also an option on this model for the 6-cylinder versions. The dynamic character of the BMW X6 is expressed even more emphatically with the M Sport package, which is now part of the standard equipment. An essential role is played here by the octagonal shape of the front under the BMW kidney grille: with striking openings on either side and extensive use of black surfaces. In combination, the three-dimensional design of the front end gives the BMW X6 an extra-wide, tough appearance.

The M-specific sill trims and trim details in M High Gloss Shadowline are also part of the M Sport package. The rear diffuser of the Sports Activity Coupe features an insert in Dark Shadow and the new exhaust tailpipes have a trapezoidal shape.

Modern cockpit design with BMW Curved Display

Digital technology was the common thread in the development of the interior of the new BMW X5 and X6. It marked the integration of the BMW Curved Display in both models with BMW Operating System 8. The display consists of a 12.3-inch instrument panel behind the steering wheel and a subsequent 14.9-inch Touch Control Display - together behind a one-piece glass surface. Thanks to the touch function of the latter display, the number of buttons and switches has been significantly reduced and the operation of numerous functions has been digitized.

Standard equipment on both models now includes trim on the dashboard in Sensafin and an elegantly curved trim in refined wood. Another new feature is the Ambient Light Bar with LED lighting integrated under the trim strip on the front passenger side. The model designation - X5 or X6 - has been added to the display in the Ambient Light Bar; in the top version of both models, the light bar displays the M logo. The control panel on the center console now features a new design and there is a redesigned transmission lever. The innovative cockpit and instrument panel updates create a particularly progressive, premium ambience.
