The new BMW X2 and the very first BMW iX2

The new BMW X2 and the first-ever BMW iX2 are coming, and this generation is even sportier, more striking and more progressive than its predecessor. The progressive character is also reflected in the all-electric BMW iX2, as well as in a host of systems that enable automated driving and parking and in the form of innovative digital services through the new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9.

The global market launch will take place on March 2, 2024 with the all-electric BMW iX2, a gasoline engine, a diesel variant and the sporty BMW X2 M35i xDrive. The new BMW X2 will be available for a consumer suggested retail price starting at €52,340 as the BMW X2 sDrive20i Launch Edition. The all-electric BMW iX2 will have a recommended retail price starting at € 59,350 in the form of the BMW iX2 xDrive30.

Exterior design: dynamic lines and a confident appearance

The new BMW X2 has a striking and expressive design that clearly distinguishes it from the BMW X1. The BMW X2 is immediately recognizable as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) with its dynamic and elongated lines. The new BMW X2 has a boot volume of 560 to 1,470 liters, depending on the model variant. The BMW iX2 offers 525 to 1,400 liters of luggage space.

The confident stance of the new BMW X2 is partly due to its model-specific tall front end. Defining elements are the striking LED headlights and the almost hexagonal BMW kidney grille, which - for the first time in the compact premium segment - can be optionally ordered with BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting. Also optional are adaptive LED headlights with matrix high beam that does not dazzle other road users.

An M Sport package with optimized exterior details is available for all model variants, including the new BMW iX2. This also applies to the optional M Sport Package Pro, which includes an expanded M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, M headlights Shadowline, M rear spoiler and M Sport brake system with brake calipers finished in red.

Premium ambience with sporty appearance

The interior of the new BMW X2 has a modern premium ambience with sporty accents. The slim dashboard with BMW Curved Display is combined with a "floating" central armrest with an integrated control panel. At the front of the center console are two cup holders and an indirectly illuminated smartphone compartment with wireless charging capability.

The newly developed seats are optionally available in perforated Veganza or Vernasca leather with fine stitching as alternatives to the standard cloth upholstery. Other options include sport seats, power seat adjustment with Memory function, a lumbar support and a massage function. Several improvements have been made in terms of acoustic comfort and occupant protection. Standard equipment includes, for example, an airbag between the front seats.

Comprehensive standard equipment

Automatic 2-zone air conditioning, BMW Maps navigation and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel are among the standard equipment of the new BMW X2. Also standard are automatic luggage door controls, four USB-C ports and a 12V socket in the center console and luggage compartment. The number of driver assistance systems and digital services available has increased significantly over the previous model.

BMW iX2: premium electric driving in a compact SAC

From its launch, the new SAC is also available as an all-electric BMW iX2 xDrive30. Two precisely cooperating electric motors - one on the front axle and one on the rear axle - provide system output of 230 kW (313 hp, temporary peak power) and system torque of 494 Nm. With that, the BMW iX2 xDrive30 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, while the top speed is set at 180 km/h. The high-voltage battery has an impressive, usable capacity of 64.8 kWh. Together with the very high efficiency of the drive train, this enables a range of 417 to 449 kilometers (WLTP). Adaptive regeneration and the MAX RANGE function further contribute to these excellent range values.

Efficient gasoline and diesel engines, standard 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission

A three-cylinder gasoline engine from the latest modular generation of the Efficient Dynamics engine family powers the BMW X2 sDrive20i. The 1.5-liter engine combined with a 48V mild hybrid system accounts for an output of 125 kW (170 hp), with 14 kW (19 hp) of power provided by the integrated electric motor. The four-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW X2 sDrive18d has undergone a comprehensive upgrade and delivers 110 KW (150 hp). All combustion engines of the new BMW X2 are mated to a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission as standard.

Sporty BMW X2 M35i xDrive available immediately from market launch

Right from its market launch in March 2024, the new BMW X2 will be available in a sporty version that brings out the SAC's dynamic character even more. With its distinctive M design and driving characteristics, the new BMW X2 M35i xDrive forms an attractive overall package. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces an output of 221 kW (300 hp).

The new BMW X2 M35i xDrive sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The M-specific suspension tuning, together with the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, ensures sublime performance. The standard Adaptive M Sport suspension guarantees improved dynamics and greater comfort on long journeys. M Compound braking system is optionally available.

The new BMW Operating System 9 and BMW Digital Premium

The BMW X2 is equipped with the latest BMW iDrive based on the BMW Operating System 9 and the control system with QuickSelect for quick access to frequently used functions. Operation is further via the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, either via the touchscreen or natural voice command. The BMW Operating System 9 also paves the way for far-reaching personalized digital services. BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades allow customers to try out certain functions free of charge for a month, after which it is possible to purchase the function for a certain period of time.

BMW Digital Premium allows subscription-based use of a variety of apps in the BMW, from music streaming to news and games. The optional package also includes data usage for all available digital services and apps from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, including music streaming. BMW ID and smartphone integration via both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are available as standard for the new BMW X2.
