THE NEW BMW 3 SERIES

With a sharper design, a refined premium look and distinct improvements in digitalisation, controls and equipment, the BMW 3 Series is embarking on the next chapter of its global success story. The sporty qualities of the BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring come to the fore even better through a redesigned front and rear. The BMW Operating System 8 and the BMW Curved Display make their debut in the interior. All versions of the BMW 3 Series have an 8-speed Steptronic transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel and a redesigned transmission lever as standard. The BMW 3 Series Sedan is available from € 50,108 and the BMW 3 Series Touring from € 52,364. The new BMW 3 Series will be introduced in July 2022.

Headlights and BMW kidney grille in new design
The sporty appearance of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring is enhanced by clearly structured surfaces, dynamic lines and large air intakes at the front. The newly designed headlights and kidney grille create a strong visual impact. The headlamps with LED technology are narrower, with clear contours and daytime running lights in an inverted L-shape, creating a modern and harmonious appearance. The modified contours and new double bars give the BMW kidney grille an even more powerful appearance. The air intakes, with high-gloss black surround under the kidney grille, cool the brakes and add an elegant element to the look.

Model M Sport with new design, premiere M Sport Pack Pro
The dynamic character of the BMW 3 Series is shown to even greater advantage with the Model M Sport. This package includes new design features, such as a honeycomb structure for the BMW kidney grille, a specific design for the front and rear bumper and new 18-inch M light-alloy wheels (wider at the rear). The BMW Performance models (M340i and M340d) from BMW M GmbH also stand out for their even more pronounced appearance. They can be recognised by the BMW kidney grille in mesh design, 18-inch or 19-inch M light-alloy wheels (optional), trapezoidal exhaust tips and glossy black M mirror caps.

The M Sport Pack Pro is new on the option list. The package is available as an addition to the Model M Sport and BMW M GmbH models. The package includes extensive M high-gloss Shadow Line equipment and an M Sport brake system with red brake calipers. The sporty and dynamic character of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring can be further accentuated with retrofit BMW M Performance Parts.

The range of body colours has been expanded to include Skyscraper Grey metallic and M Brooklyn Grey metallic as part of the Model M Sport. The colours BMW lndividual Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic have also been added.

Automatic air conditioning with 3-zone control and navigation system now standard
Automatic air conditioning with 3-zone control is standard equipment in the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and 3 Series Touring. The functions can be controlled via voice or touch on the Touch Control Display. The standard equipment includes an automatic dimming rear-view mirror, a comprehensive storage package and Park Distance Control (PDC) with front and rear sensors. All models now also come with BMW Live Cockpit Plus including BMW Maps navigation as standard.

Wide range of powertrains
The BMW 3 Series is available with efficient BMW TwinPower Turbo engines, and there are versions with electrified Plug-in Hybrid and 48-volt Mild Hybrid drive technology. In the BMW 3 Series Sedan, there is a choice of three Plug-in Hybrid versions and in the 3 Series Touring there are four. For both models, four petrol and four diesel engines are available with four or six cylinders. Part of this offering is a four-cylinder engine with an exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head with an improved turbo system to optimise power delivery. There are also two BMW Performance models from BMW M GmbH with very sporty characteristics.

This means that the BMW 3 Series is available with power ratings from 110 kW (150 hp) to 275 kW (374 hp). All engines are paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, including shift paddles behind the steering wheel. An 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is available as an option, which excels with its rapid gear changes and a Launch Control function for optimal traction in a sprint with a standing start. The Sprint function also ensures very fast power delivery. BMW xDrive is standard on the top-of-the-range models.

Wide range of driver assistance systems
Comfort and safety are further enhanced by a range of automated driving and parking assistance systems. Approach Control Warning with Brake Assist, which detects cyclists and pedestrians in addition to vehicles, is standard. Cruise control with braking function, Speed Limit Display with display of overtaking restrictions, Manual Speed Limit Assist and Lane Departure Warning are also standard.

BMW iDrive with BMW Operating System 8
The new BMW Operating System 8 for BMW iDrive opens the way to far-reaching connectivity and fast data processing. Operation is intuitive, with the BMW Curved Display and the further extended capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant playing a crucial role. The My BMW App acts as a digital interface between driver and vehicle. In the BMW 3 Series Sedan and 3 Series Touring, customers can use BMW ID for a personalised user experience and Smartphone Integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
