Two power variants

The electric MINI Cooper is available in two power versions with considerable range. This makes all versions suitable for trips well beyond the city. Acceleration is smooth, without interruption from gearshifts.

MINI Cooper E
The basis of the lineup is the MINI Cooper E, equipped with an electric motor with an output of 135 kW (184 hp) and torque of 290 Nm. The battery capacity of the MINI Cooper E is 40.7 kWh, resulting in a range of up to 305 kilometers (WLTP). The 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.3 seconds.

MINI Cooper SE
The MINI Cooper SE is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 54.2 kWh, good for a range of up to 402 kilometers (WLTP). The electric motor of this premium version has an output of 160 kW (218 hp) and torque of 330 Nm, resulting in a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 6.7 seconds. The mentioned range data of the Cooper E and Cooper SE are preliminary figures.

Minimalist exterior design

The new electric MINI Cooper is characterized by a minimalist design, both outside and inside. Exterior features include short overhangs, a short hood, a long wheelbase, recessed door handles, the absence of wheel well frames, large wheels and large window surfaces for maximum interior light. The pure design results in a Cw value of only 0.28 - unprecedentedly low in the compact car segment - and highly efficient energy consumption.

"Inspired by our history, we have developed our own new design language that defines our DNA. We call it 'Charismatic Simplicity.' The idea behind it is a design that gives each new MINI model a strong, individual character and is characterized by a clear, reduced design language that is intuitively focused on the essence of the brand," said Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.

MINI Interaction Unit

MINI is taking a giant leap forward into the digital age with a new dashboard concept. Central to this is the iconic, center-mounted instrument display: the MINI Interaction Unit. The round OLED display, with a diameter of 24 centimeters and rich color reproduction, fits perfectly into the interior of the models of the new MINI family, which includes the new electric MINI Cooper. Its central placement makes the display easy to use by both the driver and the front passenger.

MINI Operating System 9

The MINI Operating System 9 is attractively designed, optimized for touch operation and compatible with 5G connectivity (optional). Developed by BMW Group, it is based for the first time on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack.

The start menu of MINI Operating System 9 is located in the center of the circular display. There, the user can select and access personalized content by swiping to the side. In the lower part of the screen is the fixed status bar containing the menu items Navigation, Media, Phone, All Apps and - depending on the situation - Home, which the user can select directly. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen reveals the so-called tool belt, as is common in many consumer electronics. Here favorite functions can be stored and quickly recalled, such as destinations or radio stations. The tool belt is also accessible via the star button on the multifunction steering wheel. The upper part of the screen is reserved for relevant information such as driving speed and vehicle status.
