The BMW XM Label Red

A few months after the production launch of the BMW XM, BMW M GmbH presents the absolute best version of its first high-performance model with an electrified powertrain. The BMW XM Label Red combines the M HYBRID system with extra power and specific design accents that highlight its exceptional performance. With 550 kW (748 hp) of system power - the V8 engine delivers up to 430 kW (585 hp) and the electric motor integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic automatic delivers 145 kW (197 hp) - the BMW XM Label Red is the most powerful BMW M model ever. The BMW XM Label Red will debut in April at the Shanghai Motor Show. From October 2023, the BMW XM Label Red will see its introduction in Dutch showrooms. The Dutch recommended retail price is: € 203,700.

Exclusive version
The limited edition of the BMW XM Label Red - 500 units worldwide - has even more expressive styling. The exclusive body color BMW lndividual Frozen Carbonschwarz metallic contrasts with the framing of the kidney grille and the insert of the rear diffuser in Toronto Red metallic. The interior is finished in leather 'Merino' Schwarz combined with Fiona Rot, for an additional sporty atmosphere. The three-dimensional headliner and the trim on the window pillars are finished in black. Red accents add extra exclusivity to the diamond-shaped top of the backrest and headrest of the front seats and the outer rear seats. The interior trim and dashboard feature red stitching. A red XM designation under the Touch Control Display and a Carbon Fibre interior trim with red and blue stitching emphasize that this is an M model. In addition, this limited edition features the "1 of 500" designation under the Touch Control Display.

M HYBRID for maximum performance
The performance of the M HYBRID powertrain in the XM Label Red is impressive. The interplay of the electric motor and gasoline engine ensures that power is always available as soon as the driver presses the gas pedal. The power build-up continues uninterrupted up to the highest rpm range. This combination of gasoline engine and electric motor is similar to the concept used in BMW M GmbH's BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car. This car made its successful debut in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona earlier this year and will compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans next year, among others.

With a system output of 748 hp, the BMW XM Label Red is 95 hp stronger than the regular BMW XM. System torque has increased by 200 Nm to 1,000 Nm. All power goes to the wheels via the M xDrive all-wheel drive system. Thanks to model-specific suspension technology and the drive train's extremely quick and precise control unit, this offers a dynamic and sporty driving experience of an unprecedented level.

V8 engine with advanced M TwinPower Turbo technology
The M HYBRID powertrain in the BMW XM Label Red mixes the benefits of electrification with the qualities of a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The latest generation of this engine stands out with extremely fast power delivery and higher efficiency. The engine features not only a cross-bank exhaust manifold, but also, among other things, a strengthened crankshaft and a turbocharger with electrically controlled pressure relief valve. In the BMW XM Label Red, the V8 engine delivers its output of 430 kW (585 hp) at 5,600 rpm. Maximum torque is 750 Nm, 100 Nm more than in the regular BMW XM. Torque is available over a wide rpm range from 1,800 to 5,400 rpm.

Two electronically controlled, continuously adjustable valves in the sport exhaust system of the BMW XM Label Red provide impressive acoustic accompaniment to the engine's power delivery. The engine sound is very distinctive, as is the sound of the two dual exhausts, whose end pieces are placed one above the other.

Powerful high-voltage battery, BMW lconicSounds Electric, Combined Charging Unit
The electric motor is powered by the high-voltage battery (lithium-ion) in the bottom of the car. The battery has a high energy density and delivers constant performance at both high and low temperature and also under heavy load with an extremely sporty driving style. The usable net capacity is 25.7 kWh. Combined with the excellent efficiency of the electric motor and smart energy management, this enables an electric range of 75 - 83 kilometers (WLTP) on average. The BMW XM Label Red is thus also eminently usable outside the city - locally emission-free and virtually silent. The purely electric top speed is 140 km/h.

The electric motor has its own soundtrack from BMW lconicSounds Electric, developed by BMW in collaboration with film music composer Hans Zimmer. The BMW XM Label Red's Combined Charging Unit enables AC charging with up to 7.4 kW. The battery can therefore be charged from 0 to 100% in about 4.25 hours.
