The digital highlights of the new MINI family

MINI has revealed the digital highlights of the new interior of the new MINI family. In the new generation of MINIs, we will soon find the MINI Interaction Unit. This is a round OLED display with a diameter of 240mm, which for the first time will be filled with circular content in rich colors. This combined with the new Operating System (OS) 9 makes MINI take a giant leap forward into the digital age.

A projector at the rear of the MINI Interaction Unit illuminates the entire dashboard with colors and patterns to match the chosen Experience Mode. The display of information in the optional Head-up Display is also tailored accordingly.

Unmistakable sound design for the all-electric models: the acoustic repertoire includes completely new driving sounds in the interior, a distinctive sound to make the car recognizable as a MINI from the outside, jingles for the new MINI Experience Modes and thirty new sound signals with information and warning functions.

The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant is activated by the voice command "Hey MINI" and can be used with visualizations of "MINI" or "Spike" (optional). With the Personal Assistant, the driver can control important functions of the MINI via voice commands and ask travel-related questions. The Personal Assistant also recognizes whether the driver or passenger is speaking.

The new, cloudbased MINI Navigation Systemcalculates routes particularly quickly and accurately. It always streams the latest map data live, and thanks to route planning optimized for on-the-go charging, the driver of the all-electric MINI can take long trips with confidence. The optional Augmented View provides the driver with a live video stream in the MINI Interaction Unit, with additional added information for optimal orientation when navigating. There are several map designs to choose from, as well as an attractive visualization option with buildings in 3D view.

The MINI Connected Store provides access to a wide and ever-growing range of practical and entertainment apps, such as AirConsole gaming, music and video streaming (offerings vary by country).

Digital access to the MINI with suitable devices from Apple, Google and Samsung: the optional MINI Digital Key Plus gives the driver access to the car without having to reach for his smartphone. With the sharing function, the digital key can also be passed on to others digitally if desired.

High-speed connectivity and optional 5G capabilities.

Remote Software Upgrades: MINI models now receive regular and free quality improvements via over-the-air software updates. Depending on the country settings, model and version of the MINI, MINI drivers can even access new and improved features - also free of charge.
