Emission-free Go-Kart feeling
The electric MINI Cooper marks the beginning of a new generation in the MINI family. This latest version of the iconic MINI 3-door gives the Go-Kart feeling an electric dimension through two power variants. The highly dynamic electric MINI Cooper simultaneously symbolizes emission-free premium mobility of the future.

The MINI Electric, introduced in 2020, posted a sales growth of a whopping 25.5 percent worldwide in 2022 compared to the previous year. This makes it by far the most popular MINI model. More than 43,000 units of this emission-free MINI have already been sold worldwide. One in five newly sold MINI models is now electrically powered. In the Netherlands, this is even one in four. The enormous success of the original MINI was evidenced by the production milestone of the millionth MINI 3-door of the current fourth generation.

Two power variants
The electric MINI Cooper is available in two power variants with considerable range. This makes all versions suitable for trips well beyond the city. Acceleration is smooth, uninterrupted by gearshifts.
MINI Cooper E
The basis of the lineup is the MINI Cooper E, equipped with an electric motor with an output of 135 kW (184 hp) and torque of 290 Nm. The battery capacity of the MINI Cooper E is 40.7 kWh, resulting in a range of up to 305 kilometers (WLTP). The 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.3 seconds.
MINI Cooper SE
The MINI Cooper SE is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 54.2 kWh, good for a range of up to 402 kilometers (WLTP). The electric motor of this premium version has an output of 160 kW (218 hp) and torque of 330 Nm, resulting in a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 6.7 seconds. The mentioned range data of the Cooper E and Cooper SE are preliminary figures.

Minimalist exterior design
The new electric MINI Cooper is characterized by a minimalist design, both outside and inside. Exterior features include short overhangs, a short hood, a long wheelbase, recessed door handles, the absence of wheel well frames, large wheels and large window surfaces for maximum interior light. The pure design results in a Cw value of only 0.28 - unprecedentedly low in the compact car segment - and highly efficient energy consumption.

"Inspired by our history, we have developed our own new design language that defines our DNA. We call it 'Charismatic Simplicity.' The idea behind it is a design that gives each new MINI model a strong, individual character and is characterized by a clear, reduced design language that is intuitively focused on the essence of the brand," said Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.

Unique rear end
At least as striking is the rear of the new electric MINI Cooper. Here the recessed LED taillights with vertical light clusters and Union Jack design refer to the classic Mini lighting. Different light modes are also available here. The third brake light and rear fog light are recessed and are part of the design, creating an almost sculpture-like rear end. A trim in high-gloss black with type marking connects both taillights and emphasizes the width of the car.

The interior: back to the basics
The interior design reflects the dashboard design of the classic Mini, once conceived by Mini inventor Alec Issigonis in 1959. Like the original, the new MINI offers a circular instrument panel in the center and the characteristic toggle bar with toggle switches underneath. MINI reduces everything to the essentials, requiring a smaller number of components without compromising on amenities. Behind the wheel, the optional Head-Up Display ensures that all relevant driving information appears in the driver's field of vision. This eliminates the need for an additional display on the driver's side of the dashboard, resulting in a freer forward view.

MINI Interaction Unit
MINI is taking a giant leap forward into the digital age with a new dashboard concept. Central to this is the iconic, center-mounted instrument display: the MINI Interaction Unit. The round OLED display, with a diameter of 24 centimeters and rich color reproduction, fits perfectly into the interior of the models of the new MINI family, which includes the new electric MINI Cooper. Its central placement makes the display easy to use by both the driver and the front passenger.

MINI Operating System 9
The MINI Operating System 9 is attractively designed, optimized for touch operation and compatible with 5G connectivity (optional). Developed by BMW Group, it is based for the first time on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack.

The start menu of MINI Operating System 9 is located in the center of the circular display. There, the user can select and access personalized content by swiping to the side. In the lower part of the screen is the fixed status bar containing the menu items Navigation, Media, Phone, All Apps and - depending on the situation - Home, which the user can select directly. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen reveals the so-called tool belt, as is common in many consumer electronics. Here favorite functions can be stored and quickly recalled, such as destinations or radio stations. The tool belt is also accessible via the star button on the multifunction steering wheel. The upper part of the screen is reserved for relevant information such as driving speed and vehicle status.

MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant
The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant is activated by the voice command "Hey MINI" and can be used with visualizations of "MINI" or optional "Spike. With the Personal Assistant, the driver can control important functions of the MINI via voice commands and ask travel-related questions.

Many key functions - such as navigation, telephony, radio and temperature - can be controlled by voice commands. The driver can ask travel-related questions and give commands, such as "What's the weather like in.../at my destination?" and "Show me charging stations along the route." For example, if the MINI driver says "I'm hungry" or "I'd like coffee," the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant displays relevant restaurant options in the area and can immediately start route guidance to the desired destination. Thanks to two microphones on the front of the headliner, the system detects whether the driver or passenger is speaking. The operation and functions of the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant depend on the country settings selected.

Cloud-based MINI Navigation System
The new, cloud-based MINI navigation system calculates routes particularly quickly and accurately. It always streams the latest map data live, and thanks to route planning optimized for on-the-go charging, the driver of the all-electric MINI Cooper can take long trips with peace of mind. The optional Augmented Reality View provides the driver with a live video stream in the MINI Interaction Unit, with additional added information for optimal orientation when navigating. Several map designs are available to choose from, and there is also an attractive visualization option with buildings in 3D view.

The MINI Connected Store provides access to a wide and ever-growing range of practical and entertainment apps, such as AirConsole gaming, music and video streaming (offerings vary by country).

MINI Digital Key Plus
The optional MINI Digital Key Plus gives the driver access to the car without having to reach for his smartphone. With the sharing function, the digital key can also be passed on to others digitally if desired. This function works on Apple, Google and Samsung devices. The MINI App also offers other functions that enhance user security. With the Remote 360 option, for example, the surroundings of the parked vehicle can be viewed in the MINI App. An optional interior camera provides a view of the interior. In addition, the Snapshot function offers the ability to capture moments in a photo, upload them to the smartphone via WiFi-Direct and share them with others
