The new MINI Countryman

Higher, longer and still MINI - with six centimeters extra height and thirteen centimeters extra length, the new MINI Countryman - available both fully electric-powered and with gasoline engines - is a lot bigger than its predecessor. The new MINI design language: Charismatic Simplicity
A straight and minimalist silhouette makes the new MINI Countryman an adventurous, versatile and reliable compact crossover. And yet the sporty off-road model with its short overhang, short hood, wheelbase extended to 2,692 mm and large wheels has the unmistakable MINI look. The design reduction gives an even stronger impact to the visual three-way split, all-round windows and a contrasting roof that characterize MINI.

The new MINI Countryman has been enlarged to 4,433 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height. Aerodynamics have also been improved for lower energy consumption. The design consists of sleek surfaces, and with the curved hood and raised body, the versatile new MINI Countryman exudes robustness and minimalism. The focus is more on the body color, resulting in an elegant appearance.

The modern exterior design is supported by clear surfaces, a slightly curved day with a seamless transition to the newly designed C-pillar in a specific shape and the characteristic black band around the circumference. The lettering and designs of the type designation are done in minimalist relief and are the same color as the chosen roof. The range of roof colors has also been expanded to include Vibrant Silver. 20-inch wheels in various designs further emphasize the robust character.

The flat, vertical clusters of LED taillights in the large area at the rear refer to the classic MINI taillights and emphasize the wide stance of the new MINI Countryman. Interior: spacious, digital, fascinating and warm
The new MINI Countryman has no additional screen or instrument panel behind the steering wheel. All functions can be seen on the unique central circular OLED display or optionally via a Head-Up display. That minimalism allows for wider forward visibility. As in the new MINI Cooper, textiles have been used for the first time for the dashboard coverings. The entire interior is divided into upper and lower sections. Vertical design elements are the vents and door handles which emphasizes the car's character.

The new MINI Countryman offers nearly three inches more shoulder and elbow room in the front, and 2.5 cm more in the rear. Between the front seats, the wide, adjustable central armrest increases seating comfort. The optional panoramic roof opens halfway and brings light into the interior. Sport seats are available in regular and a JCW version and optionally with electric adjustment with memory function. with the electrically adjustable seats, a massage function is also available.

The three rear seats can be moved 13 centimeters and the backrests can be adjusted to an angle of 12 degrees. When the seats are folded down, the luggage compartment increases from 450 liters to a maximum of 1,530 liters, depending on the engine version chosen. Charging accessories for the all-electric MINI Countryman are stored in the bottom of the luggage compartment. An electrically retractable tow bar with towing capacity of up to 1,200 kg is available as an option.

Electric Go-Kart feeling based on progressive drive technology
Emission-free driving goes perfectly with the new all-electric MINI Countryman. The redesigned powertrain and the increased range make even longer trips possible with powerful electric motors. The all-electric MINI Countryman comes in two power versions: as the MINI Countryman E and as the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 with all-wheel drive. The MINI Countryman E has an output of 150 kW (204 hp), torque of 250 Nm, and a range of 462 km (WLTP). It accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h.
The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 has a higher power output of 230 kW (313 hp), combined torque of 494 Nm, and a range of 433 km (WLTP). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.6 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 180 km/h.* The new MINI Countryman also comes with innovative, efficient gasoline engines. The MINI Countryman C has front-wheel drive and the MINI Countryman S ALL4 all-wheel drive, as does the MINI Countryman JCW, which also provides extra power.

MINI Interaction Unit: OLED display for a great digital leap forward
With its high resolution and unique new round shape, the OLED display is the picture-perfect element of the interior. This MINI Interaction Unit controls many entertainment and comfort functions. The round display, with a glass frame and a diameter of 24 centimeters, sits closer to the front seats, making it easier to touch.

"Hey MINI!": the first MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant
After activation by saying "Hey MINI" or pressing the button on the steering wheel, various functions can be controlled via voice. Graphically, this is also displayed on the OLED display, with a choice of an animation of a MINI, or optionally also "Spike. Voice recognition has been greatly improved and is now even more realistic. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant is constantly learning and can perform daily tasks on repeated routes. For example, based on GPS data, the car can learn to automatically open the window when entering a parking garage. This makes daily routines easier and more personal. The operation and functions of the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant depend on the country settings selected.

MINI Experience Modes for an immersive driving experience
With the optional MINI Experience Modes, a projector behind the round OLED display projects different patterns and colors and the ambient lighting also adjusts depending on the mode selected. Combined with the new MINI Driving Sounds and special displays on the round OLED display, occupants experience the new MINI Countryman in a whole new way.

In Personal mode, for example, a personal background image can be set via the MINI App. The color of the lighting and projections is then automatically adjusted accordingly. The MINI Experience Modes provide a vivid image with subtly moving light displays and special dynamic backgrounds that do not distract the driver. In each mode, one "Mode App" takes center stage on the screen. In Go-Kart mode, the focus is on racing colors anthracite and red and driving dynamic renderings inspired by John Cooper Works. In Vivid mode, the colors are based on the album of music currently playing. In addition, Core, Green, Timeless and Balance modes are available based on mood and personal needs. Trail mode focuses on the driver's adventurous side and is unique to the MINI Countryman.

New switches: MINI full-length
The five rocker switches with a new design make the most important driving functions (parking brake, gears, start/stop, Experience Modes, volume) directly accessible. This eliminates the transmission lever, creating more storage space. This includes larger cup holders and space for a smartphone including digital charging capability. Starting with the Favoured Trim, a matching woven cover is also standard.

Advanced assistance systems: relaxed driving through greater safety
In addition to the automatic Active Cruise Control, the Steering and Lane Assistant, part of Driving Assistant Plus, also helps to stay within the lane. This leads to more comfort and safety.

The optional enhanced Driving Assistant Professional includes Level 2 assistance systems for partially autonomous driving for the first time in this generation of the MINI Countryman. With its sensors, the MINI detects whether there is room to change lanes. At speeds up to 60 km/h, the driver can now even take his or her hands off the wheel, provided he or she remains attentive to the situation. The Assisted View on the circular OLED display visualizes all these functions.

The new Trailer Assistant helps when reversing and maneuvering into a parking space with a trailer. Thanks to 12 sensors and four Surround View cameras, the new MINI Countryman can also better recognize empty parking spaces and park independently. The optional Parking Assistant Professional allows the MINI to park out remotely via smartphone with the new Remote Parking function.

The new MINI Operating System 9: modern connectivity for digital ease
The new "Charismatic Simplicity" design language is also reflected in the user interface. New modern designs and animations on the round OLED screen enhance the intuitive interaction between driver and car. The MINI Operating System 9 control is an operating system developed by BMW Group based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Operation is just like a smartphone, with modern, reduced displays. Top displays include speed and battery status. If the speedometer is touched, it appears large on the screen. In the center of the screen is the start menu, where personalized content can be selected and started by swiping to the side. At the bottom of the round OLED display are always the navigation, media, phone and climate buttons and a home button.

Swiping up from the bottom of the screen reveals the so-called "tool belt. Here favorite functions can be stored, such as destinations and radio stations. The tool belt can also be accessed via the star button on the multifunction steering wheel. The optional Head-Up Display shows the most important information in the driver's field of vision.

The temperature for the driver and passenger is permanently displayed, on the left and right edges of the screen, respectively. The settings of the two-zone automatic air conditioning are integrated into the MINI Interaction Unit and can be changed at any time, either by touch or by voice commands.

Together with the new cloud-based MINI navigation for particularly accurate route calculation, high-speed connectivity and optional 5G capabilities, the new MINI Countryman takes a giant leap into the digital world.

Through MINI Connected Upgrades, features can be ordered digitally. With the optional MINI Connected Package, the MINI Connected Store provides access to practical and entertainment apps. For example, the new AirConsole app is a unique form of in-car gaming on the round OLED display for all passengers, using the smartphone as controllers.

Easier and more efficient charging
The battery of the new electric MINI Countryman can be charged with alternating current with a charging power of up to 22 kW. Fast charging with direct current goes up to 130 kW for both all-electric models. This means that the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

Depending on the weather conditions, active MINI Navigation ensures that the operating temperature of the high-voltage battery is up to temperature before the driver arrives at the set fast charging station. In this way, the new electric MINI Countryman charges as efficiently as possible, especially when it is cold outside.

New setting options make the charging process simpler and clearer. For example, the charging start time or optimal charging time can be set separately. The intended charging status can also be set in advance. Or the time of departure can be set, then the new electric MINI Countryman ensures that it is charged on time and the interior is up to temperature. Via the MINI App, the charging process can be viewed from anywhere. Information includes charging status, an optimized route planner past charging stations and charging history including all costs and savings.
